有一种说法认为，电影院的座椅之所以是红色的，是因为沿用了古时候剧院座椅的颜色。而早期的剧院座主要是给皇家贵族使用的，皇家贵族喜欢用华丽的红色，所以后来电影院的座椅颜色也就沿用了这个传统。

但这难免会让人产生疑问，电影院早就不是面向皇家贵族的了，大众的审美越来越多元，为什么电影院的座椅没有出现五颜六色的呢？
