首先来讲一下四者的相同点，楼主已经说了“都是压力、紧张”，那我们更具体更细致地来看看。

英文解释：These are all words for the feelings of anxiety caused by the problems in sb’s life.

中文解释：以上四词都可以指生活上的心理压力以及精神紧张。

重点在它们的差别上！

1、pressure

英文释义：difficulties and feelings of anxiety that are caused by the need to achieve sth or to behave in a particular way.

中文释义：指为达到某一目标或有某种行为表现而产生的心理压力。具体指：

（1）利用影响、辩论或威胁施加的压力

e.g.They are putting pressure on people to vote yes.

他们正在向民众施加压力，要求他们投赞成票。

（2）工作或生活中的压力

I feel I’m not able to cope well with the pressures of life. 我觉得自己无法妥善应付生活压力。

（3）尤指经济或政治的压力

The 1990s brought increased economic pressure to bear on all business activities.

20 世纪90年代所有的商业活动都面临更大的经济压力。

2、stress

中文释义：指因生活问题引起的精神压力、心理负担、紧张，与精神压力有关的疾病也用stress来表示。

例句：

A lot of illnesses are stress-related.

许多疾病与压力有关。

Your headaches are due to stress.

你的头痛是压力造成的。

Janet’s been under a lot of stress since her mother’s illness.

It’s quite a strain on me when he’s drinking heavily.

他喝很多酒时，我就十分担心。

The dry summer has further increased the strain on water resources.

干旱的夏季加剧了水资源紧张的情况。

The trial has been a terrible strain for both of us.

法庭审判令我们两人都非常焦虑。

常用短语：

put/place a strain on sb 使…焦虑

be a terrible strain for sb …令…很焦虑

find sth a strain 认为做…很累

5、nervous

英文释义：frightened or worried about something that is happening or might happen, and show this in their behaviour, easily agitated or alarmed.
